About the Role:
As a Financial Analyst within the Energy Services and Utilities sector, you will play a critical role in driving the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization. Your primary focus will be to analyze complex financial data, develop robust financial models, and provide actionable insights that support business growth and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement financial plans that align with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements. This role demands a deep understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting. Ultimately, your work will enable the company to optimize resource allocation, manage risks effectively, and enhance overall financial performance in a dynamic industry environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, and corporate finance within a relevant industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and macros.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Billingual English/Spanish
- Experience working in the Energy Services and Utilities industry or a similar regulated sector.
- Familiarity with financial planning software and ERP systems.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CMA.
- Advanced skills in data visualization tools and programming languages for financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning activities.
- Analyze financial statements and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with business units to gather financial data, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment with corporate financial goals.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and macros, to streamline data analysis and reporting processes.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to assess their impact on financial performance and strategy.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial plans, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Skills:
In this role, your financial analytical skills will be essential for interpreting large datasets and identifying key financial trends that influence business decisions. You will apply financial modeling techniques daily to create scenarios that forecast company performance and support strategic initiatives. A solid grasp of accounting principles ensures accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting and planning activities. Your proficiency with pivot tables and macros in Excel will enable you to automate repetitive tasks and enhance the efficiency of data processing.
