Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a highly skilled Massage Therapist to support the Air National Guard's 121st Fighter Squadron at Joint Base Andrews. In this unique role, the therapist will deliver specialized massage therapy to elite fighter pilots to enhance performance, reduce neck and back pain, and assist in injury prevention and recovery. Services are delivered in a clinical fitness setting, with coordination alongside the Strength & Conditioning Coach. This position offers a rare opportunity to work in a high-performance aviation health environment.
General Duties:
- Clinical Practice: Deliver services in accordance with standard professional practice, Air Force guidance, and DoD regulations.
- Compliance: Follow all laws and regulations, professional codes, and ethical standards applicable to massage therapy.
- Team Integration: Collaborate with Strength & Conditioning Coach to coordinate care for pilots with specific concerns.
Specific Duties:
- Conduct 1-hour massage sessions for each pilot approximately every 2 months.
- Perform specialized massage techniques including:
- Swedish
- Trigger point
- Myofascial release
- Deep tissue
- PNF stretches
- Address issues such as muscle tightness, reduced flexibility, soreness, and poor posture.
- Prioritize scheduling to meet pilot needs, with focus on neck and back issues.
- Complete an initial evaluation for each pilot within 90 days of start and every 6 months thereafter.
- Independently handle laundry and cleanliness of treatment space and materials.
Qualifications:
- Degree: None required
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Massage Therapy Program
- Certification: Certified in Massage Therapy; Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in elite athletic settings (e.g., professional athletes, Special Ops, or Division I/Olympic-level sports)
- Licensure: Must hold an active Maryland Massage Therapy license
Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise in musculoskeletal massage techniques
- Ability to assess needs and tailor sessions to elite athlete-level clients
- Strong communication and collaboration with physical performance staff
- High professional and ethical standards in a military setting

Schedule:
- Varies based on pilot flight schedule
- Primarily weekday shifts starting no later than 0930
