Job Description

Job DescriptionJob Title: Industrial and Agricultural Electrician
Job Description

This role focuses on providing electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting services in industrial, agricultural, and commercial environments such as dairies and supermarkets. You will work as a well-rounded electrician who can handle a wide range of tasks, from pipe bending and conduit work to motor controls and PLC troubleshooting, while supporting a close-knit team of electricians.

Responsibilities

  • Install, bend, thread, and run various types of conduit, including EMT and OCAL, in industrial, agricultural, commercial, and occasional residential settings.
  • Pull wire, terminate circuits, and install electrical fixtures and related equipment according to schematics and applicable codes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motor controls and PLC-related issues, to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and installation documents to plan and execute work accurately.
  • Service electrical systems in industrial and commercial facilities, including dairies, supermarkets, and similar environments.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance and repairs, ensuring work meets safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with a team of electricians, communicating effectively to coordinate tasks and complete projects on schedule.
  • Adapt to a variety of electrical duties rather than focusing on a single specialty, supporting all aspects of the electrical work as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working on active job sites and around industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and accept training to expand capabilities in different areas of the trade.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a well-rounded electrician with exposure to industrial, agricultural, or commercial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with pipe bending, threading pipe, and conduit installation, including EMT and OCAL conduit.
  • Strong skills in pulling wire, running conduit, and installing electrical fixtures and related components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, including motor controls and PLC-related issues.
  • Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and installation diagrams.
  • Relevant experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
  • Possession of an ET card or Journeyman card.
  • Valid driver’s license with a DMV record that has minimal points.
  • Ability and willingness to perform a wide range of electrical duties rather than specializing in only one area.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside other electricians.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience servicing electrical systems in dairies, supermarkets, or similar industrial and commercial facilities.
  • Comfort working in both industrial and agricultural environments, as well as occasional new residential projects.
  • Eagerness to learn and openness to training to develop additional technical skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, including extended days and up to six days per week when needed.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in a low-turnover, long-term work setting.

Why Work Here?

You will join a stable organization with a reputation for long-term employment and low turnover, where employees rarely face layoffs. The company offers overtime opportunities, with the potential to work six days a week and extended hours for those who want to increase their earnings. Comprehensive benefits include employer-paid medical insurance, as well as access to dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan, along with paid vacation. You will work in a respectful, close-knit team environment where colleagues treat each other like family and where training and professional growth are encouraged.

Work Environment

The role is based primarily in industrial and agricultural work sites, including dairies and industrial facilities, with additional work in commercial settings such as supermarkets and occasional new residential projects. You will work closely with a crew of approximately five other electricians in a close-knit, respectful environment where team members support one another. The work involves hands-on tasks with EMT and OCAL conduit, pipe bending, running conduit, pulling wire, and installing fixtures in active job sites. The schedule can include overtime with days that may extend to around 9.5 hours or more, and up to six days per week when required. The culture emphasizes teamwork, mutual respect, and a willingness to take on all aspects of the job rather than focusing on a single specialty, with training provided for those who are eager to learn.
