Job Description

The K-12 Account Manager is responsible for generating new customer revenues with mid-to large sized public-school districts and select private school organizations. This role is accountable for managing a territory and achieving established sales and gross profit targets. They will also develop a pipeline, forecast, solicit and secure orders from potential and existing customers. Please note, this position is on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Accelerate sales growth within an assigned territory targeting large school districts
  • Achieve revenue and gross profit objectives
  • Assist with revenue generation, when necessary, with smaller districts
  • Develop business through new customer development
  • Maximize overall performance utilizing “effort-based” metrics such as frequency of contact, account penetration, forecasting, building a pipeline, and customer retention
  • Conduct 10 to 12 in-person sales calls with district decision makers per week
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach to guide districts to technology solutions that best fit their needs
  • Use a CRM to record sales activities, enter opportunities, and create proposals
  • Develop an understanding of technology products and services provided by Visual Sound, Inc
  • Provide director of K12 sales with a monthly sales forecast
  • Attend all sales meetings

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of proven sales experience
  • Persistence, high energy levels and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate past success with converting new customer business
  • Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills
  • Technical aptitude
  • Proven sales experience (2-4 years) including prospecting, presentation and closing skills or comparable experience
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Proven self-starter with experience of working from a home office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record as a “hunter” of new business and new customers
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license and form of transportation
