Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is open for the 2026-2027 academic year within an inclusive elementary school environment. This engaging contract role offers the chance to work 35 hours per week from 8:30am to 4:00pm, making a direct impact on students’ lives and supporting their growth throughout the school year.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience supporting students with I/DD and neurodiversity strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and CSD (Communication, Social, and Development) strategies
  • Collaborative spirit, ready to partner with teachers, specialists, and families
  • Positive, adaptable attitude to meet the evolving needs of elementary students
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and support tailored to elementary students with varying abilities, nurturing independence and confidence in each child
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
  • Foster a safe, inclusive classroom aligned with the school’s commitment to community and diversity
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated approach to student support
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development
  • Support RiseUp programs, which include residential, academic, and community engagement for students with I/DD
