Job Description
Kent Place School seeks a Middle School Track Coach for the 2025-2026 season.
Hours: 2:30-3:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (games may finish later and occur on Thursdays)
Season: Spring, March 23-May 29, 2026
Requirements:
- Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required.
- Understand the fundamentals of track.
- Have the ability to motivate players to reach their potential.
- Must have exceptional leadership skills.
- Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
Administrative Duties and Personal Skills
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Maintains, along with coaches, the proper supervision of student-athletes at practices, games, and on school-provided transportation.
- Effective, active listening skills.
- Promotes good public relations through professional standards of conduct and presentation and professional courtesy.
- Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
- Have the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Adhere to best practices of diversity and inclusion so that interactions with students, colleagues, and other constituencies highlight awareness, competence, and sensitivity.
Other duties as assigned:
- Attends a mandatory preseason training session with the Athletic Dept.
- Participates in special activities, awards nights, admission panels, open houses, and pep assemblies.
- Complete all coaching accreditation modules and KPS training.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department.
