Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This travel nursing opportunity is centered in a stepdown unit specializing in post-cardiac catheterization care, located in Smyrna, TN. The unit consists of 12 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1, supported by one dedicated tech per shift. Nurses will work with advanced equipment, including GE monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems, all documented through the Meditech platform.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert post-cath care, including management of TR bands
- Administer advanced pulmonary treatments and perform medication titration
- Communicate effectively using AIDET and complete communication boards
- Participate in medication teaching to enhance patient experience
- Float in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers as needed
- Adhere to all unit policies and dress code requirements (charcoal gray scrubs)
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with stepdown/unit experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Demonstrated positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and manage complex patient needs
- Experience with cardiac post-procedure care, specifically TR bands, is essential
Schedule:
- Every other weekend required
