Job Title: Senior Accountant – Public Accounting
Location: Annapolis, MD (Onsite first 90 days, then hybrid)
Pay: $75,000–$90,000 annually
Summary:
The Senior Accountant provides monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting support for clients. This role requires multitasking across service lines and maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. The Senior Accountant works closely with the Client Accounting and Advisory team to prepare financial statements and ensure timely client delivery. Additional hours may be required during busy season.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Perform full-cycle accounting, including reconciliations and journal entries

Oversee month-end and year-end close for multiple clients

Act as main point of contact for assigned clients

Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements

Mentor junior staff and review their work

Utilize cloud accounting systems (QuickBooks Online, Xero) and workflow tools (Bill.com)
Schedule:

Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays (10-2) during tax season; non-tax season Fridays - leave at 2:30pm

Onsite for first 90 days, then hybrid
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (OR the equivalent experience)

4+ years of accounting/business experience preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills

· Bonuses - For bringing new business to the firm, a bonus of 7.5% of the billed services will be paid to you upon payment by the client. Refer a new professional staff member to the firm and receive a $5,000 bonus. Refer a new paraprofessional staff member and receive a $2,000. Refer a new administration staff member to the firm and receive a $1,000 bonus. The bonus will be paid to the referring staff member quarterly over the first year of employment of the new staff member. Your commitment and contribution to the firm are the primary factors affecting additional bonuses in which you may participate. Bonuses do not necessarily coincide with your annual or semi-annual performance review. Discretionary bonuses may be given at any time during the year.
· Continuing Professional Education (CPE) - Our firm requires that all the Certified Public Accountants obtain 40 hours annually of CPE. Accordingly, we will pay for 40 hours of CPE in courses approved by the firm.
· Personal Leave - All Full-time employees are eligible for (3) weeks Personal Leave per year in their first through fifth year of employment, and four (4) weeks per year thereafter. Paid vacation is earned and accrued monthly and may not be taken in advance without the prior consent of the managing partner.
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
