Job Description
We are seeking a Supply Chain Planner with experience in materials planning and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MRP concepts, ERP systems, inventory management, and production planning. APICS certification is a plus. A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Business, Operations, or a related field is required.
This position requires excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), Google Workspace, MRP systems, inventory management software, and order processing systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize internal systems to perform daily planning, scheduling, purchasing, and capacity planning activities.
- Review customer orders and forecasts to develop production plans that efficiently meet customer requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and operations teams for order fulfillment, production schedules, and supply-related issues.
- Communicate directly with customers to resolve supply chain challenges and changes in demand.
- Maintain accurate records of customer communications, order changes, and issue resolution activities.
- Manage and maintain critical planning data within ERP/MRP systems, including:
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Item Master Data
- Supplier Information
- MRP Parameters and Setups
- Enter and manage transactions within customer ERP systems as required.
- Coordinate customer-owned material flow strategies, including Make-to-Order and Just-in-Time inventory programs.
- Purchase raw materials from approved suppliers to support production schedules.
- Expedite materials, resolve delivery issues, and adjust schedules as needed to maintain customer commitments.
- Monitor plant capacity, including labor and production resources, and reconcile constraints against customer demand.
- Support planning activities related to new product introductions and product development initiatives.
- Manage component transitions and engineering changes while minimizing inventory obsolescence.
- Continuously improve planning processes, data accuracy, and system effectiveness.
- Develop inventory management strategies that account for product lifecycle changes, artwork revisions, and shelf-life requirements.
- Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory and work with internal stakeholders and customers to determine appropriate disposition plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations, Business, or related field.
- Prior experience in materials planning, production planning, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of MRP and ERP systems.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
