We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our team. This role involves reviewing prescriptions to ensure accuracy, compounding medications, and providing guidance to both pharmacy staff and nursing facility personnel. The position offers the potential for career advancement to a Pharmacist-in-Charge role for those with management experience.
Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Direct pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and modifying prescription orders.
- Ensure accurate intake and efficient fulfillment of prescription orders.
- Dispense medications and support nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- Advise physicians on medication therapy.
- Counsel nursing facility staff on general health topics, including diet, exercise, and stress management.
- Provide information on products such as durable medical equipment and home healthcare supplies.
Essential Skills
- Pharmacy
- Prior authorization
- Compounding
- Retail pharmacy experience
- Pharmacy License in the State of Minnesota
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
- 2 years experience in a retail environment
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Willingness to obtain licensure for multiple states as requested
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Leadership abilities to coordinate and direct associates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or other Windows-based software programs
- Long-term care pharmacy experience as a Pharmacist preferred but not required
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $65.00/hr.
