Job DescriptionMancan is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Wheeling. This position will support manufacturing operations by developing, improving, and optimizing machining and welding processes. This role works closely with production teams to analyze customer requirements, improve manufacturing efficiency, and ensure high quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, welding, machining processes, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with machining and welding production teams to develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Evaluate customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to determine manufacturability within company capabilities.
Provide technical support for new and existing customer projects, including process development and cost considerations.
Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing procedures and work instructions.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, quality performance, and production efficiency.
Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.Assist in estimating, planning, and developing manufacturing methods for new customer opportunities.Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications, and safety requirements.
Utilize MRP systems and internal documentation to support production planning and tracking.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.Experience with fabrication, welding, and machining processes (manual and CNC).
Familiarity with manufacturing environments and production workflows.Experience using MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and management.
