Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Med-Surg RN in Winston-Salem, NC! This contract position offers a dynamic role at a large, academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma designation. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg experience and a strong clinical background to provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care, managing patients with conditions such as diabetes, GI issues, respiratory and renal disorders, and wound care
• Perform specialized procedures including chest tube and trach care, PIV starts, drain and tube management, and PCA pump oversight
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage medication drips such as Amiodarone and Heparin
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including CNAs, Respiratory Therapists, Hospitalists, and Intensivists to ensure patient-centered care
• Participate in rapid response and emergency interventions as needed

Qualifications & Experience:

• Registered Nurse with 2+ years Med-Surg experience required; first-time travelers considered based on experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong clinical skills and ability to perform telemetry monitoring
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
• Capacity to manage moderate to high stress environments

Shift & Scheduling Details:

• 12-hour shifts: 0630-1900 or 1830-0630
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Expected to work 75% of holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
