Job Title: CT Scan Technologist (Contract)

Location: Neptune, New Jersey (07754)
Schedule: Night Shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday | 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Hours: 3×12s | 36 Hours per Week
Weekend Requirement: Every Sunday
Holiday Requirement: 1 Holiday
On-Call: Not Required
Float: Not Required
Scrubs: Black

Experience Required: Minimum 3 Years (5 Years Preferred)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CT Scan Technologist for a night-shift contract opportunity. The technologist will perform advanced CT imaging procedures, assist with interventional and therapeutic cases, and ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex CT imaging procedures and advanced scanning techniques

  • Review and document patient clinical history in PACS and electronic medical records

  • Prepare and review contrast questionnaires and verify exam appropriateness

  • Administer contrast media as prescribed and according to established protocols

  • Communicate with radiologists and referring physicians to clarify prescriptions and protocols

  • Verify insurance authorization and coordinate exam modifications with finance teams

  • Obtain and upload outside imaging studies for comparison in PACS

  • Provide exam copies to patients and referring providers as required

  • Evaluate images for quality, accuracy, and diagnostic value

  • Prepare patients using appropriate shielding and immobilization devices

  • Perform venipuncture and IV maintenance per guidelines

  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately

  • Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and families

  • Maintain compliance with departmental policies, attendance, and professional standards

  • Participate in holiday and weekend coverage as scheduled

  • Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiologic positioning

  • Proficiency with CT hardware, software, and imaging protocols

  • Thorough working knowledge of PACS systems

  • Experience in trauma center and comprehensive stroke center environments

  • Excellent patient care and communication skills

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience with Epic and hospital HIS/RIS systems

  • At least 6 months of dedicated CT experience

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Certifications & Licensure (Required)

  • New Jersey Diagnostic Radiography License

  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist – R.T.(R)

  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Certification:

  • ARRT Registered Technologist in CT (R.T. (CT))

Additional Details

  • Team members must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire if not already certified

  • BLS certification required within three months of hire

  • Overtime may be required to maintain patient care coverage
