Mechanical Assembler II – Contract-to-Hire
Harwood Heights, IL | $23–$25/hr | 1st Shift, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a well-established, global manufacturing leader that has been producing high-performance precision components for over 70 years. This company’s products are trusted in some of the most demanding industries, including aerospace, where quality, safety, and precision are non-negotiable.
This isn’t just “bolt-it-together” assembly — it’s hands-on, technical work where you’ll build and test specialized mechanical seals and aerospace subassemblies, working from blueprints and engineered process sheets. You’ll operate precision equipment, run acceptance tests, and handle both standard and complex builds with care and accuracy.
What You’ll Do

Assemble mechanical seals and aerospace subassemblies to exact specifications

Perform acceptance testing such as load, vacuum, and flow checks

Operate specialized equipment including laser markers, forming presses, ultrasonic cleaners, and roll-over machines

Follow clean room procedures to maintain high quality standards

Create and print labels for new and existing jobs using established programs

Handle heavier components safely and effectively

Work from blueprints, process sheets, and basic GD&T to ensure parts meet requirements

What We’re Looking For
-
3+ years of mechanical assembly experience (aerospace or precision manufacturing preferred)

High school diploma or GED
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and process routings

Familiarity with hand tools, inspection instruments, and basic GD&T
-
Comfortable with repetitive, precise work and following established procedures

Strong attention to detail and quality standards

Stable work history

Overtime: ~5 hrs/week available
