Position Overview

A large, high-acuity acute care hospital in Florida is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse to join its critical care team. This role provides advanced nursing care to the most critically ill cardiovascular patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation and continuous medication infusions.

Available Shifts

• Night Shift – Rotating weekends

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients

• Manage patients on ventilators, vasoactive drips, and invasive monitoring

• Serve as a patient and family advocate while maintaining privacy and confidentiality

• Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and care plans

• Continuously assess patient condition and respond to changes promptly

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary ICU teams

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ICU RN experience (within the last 2–3 years)

  • Candidates with 2+ years of PCU RN experience will be considered

• Active Florida RN license or multistate compact license

  • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

• BLS certification

• ACLS certification
