Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role offers the opportunity to provide critical care in a dynamic emergency department environment. The unit features 4 secure psychiatric beds, 25 procedure rooms, and 8 hallway beds to accommodate diverse patient needs. Staffed by a multidisciplinary team of 88 professionals, the department maintains flexible patient ratios, typically 4:1, to ensure quality care even during acute surges. Advanced equipment including ultrasound devices, Lucas resuscitation devices, rapid infusers, and Alaris pumps supports clinical excellence. The department uses Sunrise/Allscripts EMR systems to streamline patient information and care coordination.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience (contract role requirement)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (must for contract nurses)
• Demonstrated adaptability in fast-paced clinical settings
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Strong patient assessment and medical terminology knowledge
• Dependable and punctual with a patient-centered mindset
• Preferred: Experience with EKG interpretation and orthopedic trauma care

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver immediate, comprehensive emergency care including trauma management, stroke care, laceration repair, and intravenous access procedures
• Perform diagnostic assessments such as EKGs, eye exams, and psychiatric evaluations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care plans
• Operate and maintain advanced medical devices safely and effectively
• Follow policy-driven protocols for ordering labs, imaging, medications, and treatment initiation
• Participate in scheduling with every other weekend shift rotation
