Job Title: Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Job Type: Part-Time
Compensation:
- Weekly Pay: $1,120 – $1,200
Schedule:
- Shift: Day Shift
- Hours: 8-hour days (Part-Time)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support dental procedures and provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in restorative dentistry, strong technical skills, and the ability to assist efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Place and finish dental restorations (fillings) after dentist preparation
- Take accurate impressions for crowns, bridges, and diagnostic models
- Fabricate and place temporary crowns and bridges
- Perform coronal polishing, fluoride treatments, and apply sealants
- Assist during restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic procedures
- Take and process dental radiographs
- Maintain infection control and sterilization standards
- Provide post-treatment instructions to patients
- Accurately document treatment notes and patient records
- Monitor inventory and assist with supply management
- Support front office operations, patient flow, and case coordination as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of dental assisting experience required
- Strong knowledge of restorative dental procedures and materials
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Certifications & Licensure:
- EFDA Certification (required as per state guidelines)
- X-Ray Certification required
- CPR Certification required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior EFDA experience in a clinical setting
- Strong communication and patient care skills
