Position: Director of Business Development - RF/Microwave Simulation Models
Location: Onsite - Tampa Bay, FL
Schedule: M - F Business Hours
Pay: $125,000 - $175,000
Who We Need
A technically-savvy, high-energy sales and business development leader who can step in as the #1 growth driver for a profitable, niche-market leader in RF/microwave device modeling. This is an executive role reporting to the President/CEO and carrying full P&L responsibility for revenue growth.
Youll Own or Assist with
- Full-cycle revenue growth: strategy execution results
- Helping to Build and lead the sales + marketing team (inside staff + global reps)
- Developing new large account potential customer relationships (OEMs, foundries, defense primes).
- Expanding market share in RF/microwave, 5G/6G, defense/aerospace, semiconductor, and test & measurement segments
- Performing market assessment research to assist executive management on strategic planning and R&D investment directions.
- Increasing the pipeline: lead generation, CRM discipline, forecasting, and closing
- Growing Strategic partnerships (Component manufacturers, foundries, EDA vendors)
- Participating in marketing and marcom (trade shows, digital, PR, web, campaigns)
- Representing the company at selected industry events (IMS, EuMW, EDI CON, etc.)
Highly Desirable Experience
- 8+ years in technology and 4+ years in the RF/microwave or high-frequency electronics industry
- Proven track record of growing revenue in a technical B2B environment (ideally $2M–$20M range)
- Hands-on success building and leading small, high-performance sales/marketing teams
- General familiarity with electronic design automation (EDA) software, from companies such as Keysight Technologies, Cadence and Ansys, as used for RF/Microwave circuit design and electromagnetic simulations.
- Deep understanding of RF engineers and designers workflow and pain points
- Comfortable selling both direct and through manufacturers reps and distributors
- Sales channel management experience
- History of closing large, strategic deals with technical decision-makers
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, EE preferred (or Business with strong technical, preferably RF/Microwave, industry experience); MBA, or MSEE a plus
- Excellent communicator – can talk fluently with design engineers one minute and C-level execs the next
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR)
- Willing to travel ~20–30%, if needed, (trade shows, customer visits, rep training)
