Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years ICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert critical care nursing in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit setting located in New Braunfels, TX. This contract role offers the opportunity to work at a highly respected hospital known for quality outcomes and patient-centered care. The ICU team features 14 beds with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, supported by experienced staff including a patient care assistant and unit coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients, administering treatments including vasopressors with precision and vigilance
- Utilize documentation systems such as Meditech to accurately record patient information and interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized patient care plans
- Adhere to hospital policies including floating as necessary and attendance requirements to maintain unit efficiency
- Maintain professional appearance and comply with dress code standards, including navy scrub uniforms and appropriate grooming
Qualifications:
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses no longer accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certification mandatory
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Experience with vasopressors mandatory; Meditech experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced setting
Schedule:
- 12.5-hour shifts: 7:00 am 7:30 pm or 7:00 pm 7:30 am
- Rotating weekends every other weekend
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- No on-call responsibilities
