Role: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – Onsite once per month)

Salary Base: $250000 - $300000 / Year (Base)

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience operating in a senior-level finance leadership role, with demonstrated accountability at the executive and board level.

· Must come industry experience out of: Associations (preferred )Nonprofit organizations (secondary
· Educational (may be considered)
· Background within associations, nonprofit organizations, or education-adjacent environments strongly preferred
· Proven success overseeing organizational budgets in excess of $30M,
Core Responsibilities
· Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and modeling
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial strategy, risk management, and sustainability
- Present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership and governing boards
· Financial Operations & Compliance
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly close
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations (including Form 990), and multi-state tax requirements
- Manage the annual audit process and relationships with external auditors and financial institutions
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial policies
· Budgeting, Reporting & Transparency
- Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting processes
- Deliver timely, accurate, and accessible financial reporting
- Promote fiscal transparency and financial literacy across departments
· Investment & Cash Management
- Oversee cash flow management and short-term investments
- Monitor and manage investment portfolios in alignment with board-approved policies
· Team Leadership & Systems Oversight
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
- Oversee and optimize financial systems and reporting tools
