Staff Accountant | Kansas City, MO
LHH is partnering with a client that is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities

Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal reports

Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations
Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

1–3 years of accounting experience preferred

Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
