Job Title: Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant
Job description: We are looking for an independent and responsible person who will track invoices and receivables while supporting the accounting department and helping with office management. They will perform a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Process cash receipts on a daily basis
- Mail monthly accounts receivable statements
- Research and resolve accounts receivable issues
- Daily code and enter accounts payable invoices into the accounting system
- Review, code and enter employee monthly expense reports
- Generate and mail accounts payable checks on a timely basis
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid account payable invoices
- Scan documents for uploading into accounting software
- Maintain vendor files
- Assist with month end/year end accounting processes
- Maintain and stock office supplies
- Answer phone system and route calls
- Greet visitors
- Process and sort daily mail
- Other projects as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
- 2 years of accounting work experience or previous training
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of general accounts payable and receivable processes/procedures
- Excellent attention to detail
- Maintain confidentiality, honesty and consistency
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent communication skills and professional approach
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office
- Experience with Great Plains a plus
