Prepares items for shipment. Coordinates the shipping and receiving of parts, materials, and other items on required schedule by performing the following duties:

Shipping Clerk Tasks & Duties

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

• Determines method of shipment by following customer instructions or determining best method if not specified. Coordinates time schedules for shipping. Insures product is properly packed and ready by pick up time.

• Selects appropriate carton for packaging. Assembles containers or selects preassembled containers.

• Fills container with correct amount of product according to weight and count. Packs items to be shipped. Seals and weighs containers. Generates and affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. May have to generate bar code label clients.

• Completes and generates packing slip.

• Assists in the loading and unloading of trucks.

• Ships and receives to outside processes. Inputs into Job Boss and generates Purchase Order. May pick up and/or deliver product to/from the outside vendor.

• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

• Receives into Job Boss and checks incoming supplies, parts and materials for correct quantity and paperwork.

• May do visual inspection.

• Completes purchase order by inputting date received and quantity of shipment. If incoming shipment is raw materials, inputs/includes lot number. Counts and/or weighs it. Tags it and stores in correct location. When appropriate, informs recipient of delivery.

• May unpack and examines incoming shipments. Rejects damaged items/goods. Records shortages. Notifies quality and/or purchasing when damaged or short.

• Routes or delivers incoming packages to correct internal unit or department.

• Maintains finished goods inventory, which is retained for repeat order clients. Selects from storage and pulls the correct finished inventory stock needed for blanket orders and transports to shipping area.

Shipping Clerk Shift Info

• Monday - Friday 6:30am to 3pm

Shipping Clerk Qualifications (Requirements/Skills)

• Shipping Clerk experience required

• Must be able to operate Sit Down Forklift

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to speak and read English.

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Able to pass a background check

• Able to work in the US

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Shipping vendor's web sites/software; Internet software and Job Boss Manufacturing software, which includes Order processing systems and Inventory software; email and other software capabilities.

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong sense of time organization and urgency

• Able to work independently and within a team

• Operate lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments (including moving parts, materials and related supplies;) from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

• May assist with facility maintenance.

• Assists with delivering raw material to user.

• Participates in quality training and the quality process. Adheres to Company's quality requirements.

• Able to pass a background check

• Able to work in the US.
