SUMMARY

Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of busy retail and warehousing facility. Works with the Director of Operations and Territory Sales Managers to develop strategies to improve customer service and drive additional sales. Increases profitability by controlling costs, creating policies and marketing programs that will increase sales and grow existing customer base. Ensures all customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient. Directs retail, warehouse and delivery operations in a safe, clean, organized, efficient manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure branches perform to expected financial standards, with growing revenue and well-managed operating expenses
  • Maintains a safe, clean, well-organized, well-maintained facility
  • Identifies & implements process improvements to increase staff efficiency.
  • Makes sure staff are fully trained in all aspects of their job responsibilities and maintains appropriate records of training
  • Actively work with the Outside Sales team to fulfill all customer needs
  • Assist walk-in and telephone customers; help solve their application needs
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make suggestions for customer solutions
  • Ensure customer orders are pulled from stock according to picking/fulfillment instructions. Product is clean, sufficiently boosted and labeled before delivery
  • Works closely with the Materials Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Performs regular cycle counts to achieve inventory accuracy
  • Oversee and participate in the picking, shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in stock
  • Establish retail and warehouse standards to sort and place merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins according to those standards
  • Oversee all aspects of the receiving of inventory and scrap processing in NetSuite and that customer credits are done in a timely manner
  • Participate in required training and acquire certifications as directed by management
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises the warehouse, retail counter and drivers
  • Responsible for adequately staffing the branch to ensure quality service while maximizing efficiency
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Operational experience with facilities, driver fleets, warehousing, general office, field installations, customer service, sales, technology, vehicle logistics and process background.
  • Professionalism without fail, and the ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively & efficiently with all levels of management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management, multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently – self-starter
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping manifests, packing lists and/or shipping lists
  • Basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment and experience with multi-carrier shipping systems preferred
  • Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, inventory and warehouse management systems,
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5+ years related work history including proven, progressive management experience.
