Job Title: Safety Manager
Job Description
This role leads and supports the overall safety program across multiple industrial locations, including a foundry, machine shop, fabrication, and crane operations. The Safety Manager assists with safety audits, accident investigations, and continuous improvement of safety processes to protect employees, subcontractors, and the public. This position is ideal for a safety professional with 0–2 years of experience who wants to build a strong foundation in industrial and construction safety while working closely with operations and leadership teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, and the general public across multiple locations.
- Conduct regular field safety audits in foundry, machine shop, fabrication, and crane environments.
- Enforce corporate and project-specific safety and health programs, as well as applicable federal, state, and local safety standards.
- Assist in the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of the overall safety program.
- Identify known and potential safety hazards and exposures, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Maintain DOT compliance files and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and implement project-specific safety programs tailored to each facility’s operations.
- Plan, deliver, and conduct safety training sessions for office and field personnel.
- Assist in incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and reporting.
- Support OSHA recordkeeping and documentation related to incidents, training, and compliance.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation to ensure all employees understand site-specific hazards and safety expectations.
- Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and external partners to promote a strong safety culture.
- Manage multiple safety initiatives and priorities within established deadlines.
- Communicate safety expectations clearly and confidently, including speaking in front of large groups when needed.
Essential Skills
- 0–2 years of experience in safety management, safety coordination, or a closely related role.
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with safety audits, OSHA recording, accident investigation, and safety training.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence supervisors, peers, and external partners on safety matters.
- Confidence and ability to speak in front of large groups of people for training and presentations.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Extensive knowledge of and/or experience with rules and regulations related to Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and the EPA.
- Comfort working in construction, industrial, and manufacturing environments, including foundries and fabrication shops.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Ability to spend significant time on foot in both office and field conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in foundry, welding, fabrication, machine shop, or crane operations environments.
- Conducting safety training programs for diverse groups of employees.
- Familiarity with safety programs specific to construction and industrial operations.
- Ability to travel between multiple locations on a recurring basis (approximately 2–4 days per month to satellite sites).
- Comfort working in dirty, dusty, and physically demanding industrial settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and foster a culture of safety across different teams and locations.

Work Environment
This position is primarily based at the Smoketown location, where you will spend roughly 70% of your time. This facility includes both a foundry and a machine shop and is a very dirty and dusty environment, requiring comfort with heavy industrial conditions. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During this time, you will oversee safety protocols for both office and shop staff. You will also travel regularly to additional locations, including Cristiana and Philadelphia approximately 2–4 days per month (about one day every week or every other week). The Smoketown site has about 25 employees focused on welding and foundry work, Cristiana has around 25 employees in fabrication, Swedesboro has about 15 employees in a machine shop environment, and the Philadelphia site has approximately 45 employees working with cranes and burning/cutting stainless steel. The role requires comfort working in both office and field conditions, with a significant portion of the day spent on your feet, moving through production areas and job sites to monitor and support safe operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
