Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time, school-year contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide essential support services in a dynamic educational setting located in Kerman, CA. This role involves delivering specialized care across multiple preschool sites and engaging directly with families through home visits.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as an itinerant SLPA covering 5-6 preschool locations during morning hours.
- Conducting afternoon home visits to support 7 homebound preschool children, working closely with families to maintain flexible scheduling.
- Assisting with evaluations and facilitating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborating under the supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Maintaining clear communication and coordination with educational staff and caregivers.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience in school settings preferred to navigate educational environments effectively.
- Bilingual Spanish language skills are highly valued to enhance communication within the community.
- Strong organizational skills to manage itinerant duties efficiently.
- Comfortable and confident in providing home-based services.
