Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare administration team. The Medical Biller is responsible for submitting, processing, tracking, and reconciling medical claims with insurance companies, government payers, and patients. This role ensures accurate billing practices, timely reimbursement, compliance with healthcare regulations, and effective management of accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Billing & Claims Processing
- Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper medical claims accurately and timely.
- Verify patient demographic, insurance, and billing information before claim submission.
- Review encounter forms, charge tickets, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with payer-specific billing requirements and reimbursement guidelines.
- Process claims for commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, and other payers.
- Monitor claim status throughout the billing cycle.
RequirementsEducation
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing and Coding, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred.
- Experience with physician practice, hospital, outpatient, specialty clinic, or healthcare billing environments.
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers.
Knowledge
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding fundamentals.
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
- Knowledge of insurance claim processing and denial management procedures.
