A-Line Staffing is now hiring an entry level Medical Coder in Columbus, OH. The Medical Coder would be working for a government facility and has career growth potential. This would be a full-time position with 40+ hours per week.
Compensation:

The pay for this position is $16-17.50 per hour

Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Highlights:

This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

The required availability for this position is Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
Responsibilities:
-
Monitor and analyze policies and procedures to implement an accurate and efficient ICD coding system

Serve as a medical policy resource, ICD analyst, and technical expert for coding systems
-
Act as a liaison between the ICD unit and other agency departments
-
Interpret and apply federal and state regulations related to ICD policies
-
Perform ongoing ICD maintenance, updates, revisions, and enhancements on agency systems

Review and analyze reports to ensure correct ICD code usage and assignment

Provide coding guidance in compliance with accreditation standards and regulations
Requirements:
-
RHIA or RHIT degree and/or CCS/CCS-P/CPC certification

At least 1 year experience in Medical Billing/Coding

Proficiency in ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and healthcare delivery systems
-
Experience using Microsoft Office and agency-specific software
-
Ability to analyze data, maintain records, and generate reports

Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in claims processing, health information systems, and database management
-
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
