The Midtown Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Onboarder and New Hire Orientation Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the new hire experience, ensuring a seamless and positive onboarding process. You will facilitate orientation sessions, guide new employees through their initial days, and act as a liaison to foster a smooth transition into the company's culture and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Hire Orientation: Conduct engaging and informative orientation sessions to help new employees understand company policies, procedures, values, and culture. Coordinate with department leaders to ensure comprehensive onboarding.

  • Onboarding Process Management: Manage and streamline onboarding activities, including pre-arrival tasks, documentation, and post-orientation follow-ups. Create a welcoming experience for new hires by proactively addressing their needs and questions.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Oversee the completion of new hire paperwork, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company-specific regulations. Maintain accurate records and collaborate with payroll and benefits teams as needed.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, IT, and department managers to ensure all resources (technology, workspace, etc.) are prepared for each new hire’s arrival. Coordinate with various teams to guarantee a consistent and positive onboarding experience across the board.

  • Employee Engagement: Monitor new hire engagement and retention by conducting regular check-ins. Identify potential challenges and provide support to promote a positive work experience.

  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and enhance the onboarding program by gathering feedback, staying updated on best practices, and recommending process improvements to ensure the best possible experience for new hires.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in onboarding, training, or employee engagement, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, onboarding software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive onboarding experience.
