Your ImpactWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our team remotely. This role involves
supporting utility-scale solar projects through innovative design, permitting, and construction phases.
The ideal candidate will have experience in large-scale land use projects, including grading plans,
stormwater management, erosion control, and construction support.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design and Development
• Develop grading plans, stormwater runoff and retention systems, and erosion control measures
for utility-scale solar projects.
• Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, reports, cost estimates, and
supporting calculations.
• Develop structural designs for concrete pads, including foundation and reinforcement detailing,
ensuring optimal load distribution.
• Perform structural analysis and design for rooftop structures, such as HVAC supports, solar panel
mounts, and other equipment.
• Utilize software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and drainage tools (e.g., HEC-RAS 2D) for design and
documentation.
• Utilize structural engineering software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or equivalent) to
perform analysis and simulations.
Permitting and Compliance
• Collaborate with permitting agencies to secure and finalize necessary approvals.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and renewable energy guidelines in the
U.S.
Construction and Field Support
• Provide technical support during construction, ensuring adherence to design specifications and
addressing unique challenges.
• Perform occasional site visits to confirm field conditions and coordinate with construction teams.
Collaboration and Mentorship
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate civil engineering solutions with project
objectives.
• Mentor junior staff, providing guidance on technical skills and professional development.
Quality Assurance and Reporting
• Ensure deliverables meet company and industry quality standards.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders and management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required in CA and ability to add other states.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in solar or renewable
energy projects.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drainage calculation tools (e.g., HEC-RAS 2D).
• Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or equivalent).
• Experience preparing construction documents and performing design reviews.
• Familiarity with civil construction field practices.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with water resources projects or large land-use facilities.
• Field experience related to civil construction.

Base Pay Range$130,000—$150,000 USD
