This exciting and unique position supports the financial and operational functions of a multi-entity business group with operations in Skagway, Alaska and Evansville, Indiana. This position handles day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and coordination with our off-site accounting firm. The role requires precision, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple company accounts efficiently in a dynamic, seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) across multiple business entities.
  • Process vendor invoices and payments through Bill.com or a similar platform.
  • Record, reconcile, and maintain accurate financial transactions within the accounting system.
  • Generate financial reports and summaries for management including balance sheets, and expense reports.
  • Track and monitor account balances, deposits, and payment schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate closely with the off-site accounting firm to support monthly closing, reconciliations, audits, and tax preparation.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date digital and physical records of invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Assist with seasonal operational setup and closeout tasks such as vendor account transitions and inventory reconciliation.
  • Support management with financial data needed for budget preparation and forecasting.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of QuickBooks or NetSuite and bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in a variety of accounting platforms and familiarity with Bill.com or equivalent payment systems.
  • Strong understanding of AR/AP processes and accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a remote accounting team.
  • Comfortable relocating seasonally between Evansville, IN and Skagway, AK (housing provided during the Alaska season).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in office administration or management.

Work Environment:

  • Most work will be in an office environment, with some time spent at various division locations. The schedule will have higher hours and activity during the cruise season, with normalized hours and scheduled time off during the off-season.

  • Some travel will be required from mid May to mid September
