Role: Quality Control Inspector

Department: Quality

Reports to: Quality & Safety Manager

Hours: 3rd shift 10:30pm to 7:00a.m.

Summary: The Quality Inspector works directly with production operators, shipping/receiving and material handlers. This includes production set up and support as well as material sign off and approvals.

Key Role Objectives & Responsibilities:

· Inspect and verify product quality to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

· Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspections.

· Conduct audits on raw materials and finished products.

· Work closely with production and industrial teams to address quality issues.

· Confirm line clearance, material allocation, setup verification, and first piece approvals are properly conducted before production begins.

· Utilize measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators, to ensure components meet specifications and function properly.

· Monitor and enforce environmental compliance related to quality control processes, ensuring that materials, chemicals, and waste disposal methods meet regulatory and company standards.

· Verify that any materials (such as silicone sprays) used in production are applied per environmental and safety regulations.

· Ensure all quality control procedures align with workplace safety standards, actively identifying and mitigating potential hazards.

· Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are consistently followed.

· Train operators on quality procedures, updated work instructions, and best practices.

· Communicate quality and safety findings with the Quality and Safety Manager.

. Ensure proper functionality of measuring devices and report any issues with calibration, accuracy, or malfunctioning equipment.

· Report any procedures and forms that need updates to maintain accuracy and compliance with industry standards to the Quality and Safety Manager.

· Report and document any environmental noncompliance issues observed during inspections.

· Collaborate with other departments to improve quality and environmental sustainability initiatives.

· Collaborate with environmental, health, and safety teams to support continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills/Education:

· Two + years’ experience as a QA Inspector in a production environment.

· Familiar with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and force gages.

· Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English (Bilingual in Spanish is a plus).

· Competent in use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

· Must have strong communication skills.

· Ability to work independently.

· Must be at least 18 years old.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Essential Functions:

· Constantly:

o Communicating with others to exchange information, via operating a computer and conversing with production personnel and management.

o Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers to operate computer and inspect product utilizing measuring equipment.

o Determining the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

· Occasionally:

o Ascending or descending ladders and stairs.

o Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

o Moving about accomplishing tasks or moving from one work site to another.

o Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.

o Operating machinery and/or power tools.
