Cedar Cove Academy is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and reliable Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting, possess strong knowledge of Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) licensing requirements, and demonstrate clear communication and dependable work history.

The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports infants’ physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of documented experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early learning environment (preferred)
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential – Infant/Toddler or Master Teacher Credential (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OKDHS Child Care Licensing Requirements
  • Proven employment history with verifiable references (required)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Must meet all OKDHS background check, training, and health requirements

  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication
  • Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving practices
  • Ability to follow individualized care plans, feeding schedules, and daily routines
  • Knowledge of safe sleep practices and health and safety standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with families
  • Safe sleep certified, first aid/cpr certified


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate care for infants
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized infant classroom
  • Ensure compliance with OKDHS licensing regulations and Cedar Cove Academy policies
  • Accurately document daily care activities, including feedings, diapering, naps, and milestones
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families regarding infant care and development
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
  • Support infants’ social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Ability to engage with students in curriculum activities
