Electrical Engineer Technical Design Focus Role - Raleigh NC

Core Responsibilities

  • Electrical Design: Develop design concepts, electrical schematics, and construction documents (plans and specifications) for low/medium voltage power distribution, lighting, and specialized power equipment.
  • System Analysis: Perform load calculations, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination.
  • Project Management & Coordination: Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure a cohesive design.
  • Construction Administration: Attend construction meetings, perform site visits to monitor compliance, create site observation reports, and prepare final punch lists.
  • Technical Support: Research building codes, troubleshoot existing installations, and provide solutions for renovations and new construction projects.


Specialized Areas

  • Building Technology: Design fire alarms, access control, security systems, and data/communication systems.
  • Specialized Facilities: Design for laboratories, multi-family residential, and government facilities, adhering to strict regulations.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering program.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineering License (PE) in North Carolina or Virginia is a huge plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit/BIM.
  • Experience: Varies by level (Staff to Senior), with preference for experience in consulting engineering design.
