Job Title: Registered Nurse – Trauma Operating Room
Location: Miami, Florida
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Position Overview

A leading acute care hospital in Miami, Florida is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma Operating Room to join its high-acuity surgical services team. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care to trauma and emergency surgical patients in a fast-paced Level I/II Trauma environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and expertise in trauma surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to trauma patients undergoing emergent and scheduled surgical procedures.

  • Serve as circulator and/or scrub nurse in trauma and emergency surgeries.

  • Perform preoperative assessments and ensure proper patient preparation.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Monitor patient status throughout procedures and respond rapidly to changes in condition.

  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards.

  • Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies.

  • Participate in on-call rotation as required for trauma coverage.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida (or compact state).

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of Operating Room experience.

  • Trauma OR experience required.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • ACLS and PALS certifications (preferred or required per facility policy).

  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Center.

  • CNOR certification.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environment.
