Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The office is a private solo-doctor practice that does not take HMO or denti-cal. Currently looking for full-time. Office is open Mon-Thurs 8am - 5pm.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take dental X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring impressions or fabricating temporary crowns.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols within the dental clinic.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently to optimize office operations.
Qualifications
- Up-to-date infection control and BLS
- Radiation certification
- Previous experience as an assistant is preferred, particularly in general dentistry settings.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control standards in a dental clinic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
