Job Description
Do you enjoy mentoring adults with disabilities? Are you the Jack or Jill of trades with flexibility? We have an exciting openings for compassionate and resilient caretakers!
Learnability is seeking a part-time caregiver for an individual that lives in their homes. The shift for the position is:
Sunday - 8am to 2pm
Monday - 2pm to 8pm
Wednesday - 8am to 2pm
Thursday - 2pm to 8pm
We are seeking candidates with previous experience in the field as a DSP or behavioral health technician. Flexibility/agility to provide supports in the home and community setting is essential. Comfortable driving our company vehicle and assisting with daily routines are part of the skills we are looking for. Previous experience in the field but excited to train new caregivers interested in pursing this career!
If you're patient, emotionally steady, resilient, have initiative and can prioritize in the moment, this could be the most rewarding job you'll ever have.
Our client is deeply social at heart, but his sensory system and behavioral challenges make everyday life complex. Those challenges can often prevent him from being able to access what he needs to thrive in the moment. With genuinely supportive staff, accessing his social nature is not only possible, it's rewarding to watch him open up to life and experiences.
As his direct support professional, you'll be a key person in creating a stable, supportive team that helps him connect with his environment and community on his terms. His small team of dedicated DSP's, unique service providers, behavioral consultants, and family will collaborate together to set meaningful goals while delivering exceptional support and care.
You'll have extensive training on delivering interventions designed specifically for our client with on-site behavioral direction by skilled clinicians. These interventions are designed to respect our clients sensory and behavioral needs, foster regulation, connection and safety.
You will work in a safe, respectful family home that values an atmosphere of personal growth for our client, staff and family.
You'll be calm under pressure, and confident managing complex behavior plans created by a dedicated and visible behavioral team that is on site each week. You'll have seen a lot in this field, but you bring with you a fresh start and an open mind. You'll recognize that your aura is absorbed by our client and he's looking to you for a sense of safety and calm when his body feels dysregulated.
This is a unique role for someone both clinically skilled and deeply compassionate. Someone who is responsive, not reactive. Someone who understands communication takes on many forms and behaviors are a form of self-expression.
Your ability to collaborate, create structure while remaining flexible to evolving needs is essential.
