Emergency Room Nurse

Job Description

ER Nurse at St. Christopher’s, you’ll provide expert, compassionate care to infants, children, and adolescents. You’ll assess and stabilize acute presentations—ranging from trauma and illness to behavioral emergencies—working closely with pediatric ER physicians and the multidisciplinary team. Your role supports the delivery of top-tier, family-centered emergency care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and deliver treatment to pediatric patients presenting with emergent conditions.
• Administer medications and emergency interventions following hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with ER physicians, pediatric specialists, and on-call teams, especially during peak nighttime events.
• Provide compassionate support and clear communication to children and their families during stressful or critical events.
• Act as primary nurse during traumatic events or team activations (e.g., trauma alerts, code blues).
• Ensure compliance with hospital policy, pediatric ER standards, and applicable regulations during all hours of operation.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Mandatory: Active Pennsylvania RN license.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum 1 years of RN experience in a busy ER preferred
