Job Description

This role is pivotal in overseeing and directing production staff on the 2nd shift, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the production team during 2nd shift operations, ensuring that safety, quality, and production targets are met.
- Oversee all immediate departmental activities and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Collaborate with other manufacturing supervisors and provide assistance throughout the manufacturing department.
- Drive continuous and quality-related improvements effectively.
- Engage actively in project management responsibilities and support a wide range of production group projects.
- Resolve employee issues, promote positive employee relations, and enforce company policies fairly and consistently.
- Analyze and solve problems or assist team members in finding solutions.
- Review production schedules, material, and manpower resources, coordinating daily production activities to meet business objectives.
- Inform employees of production and material problems, coordinating with support groups to resolve issues affecting schedules.
- Achieve department goals and standards.
- Develop and maintain positive peer and leadership relationships.
- Direct efforts toward reducing process variation while ensuring that products meet quality requirements.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years in an assembly manufacturing environment.
- 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Ability to manage, train, and develop employees.
- Conflict resolution skills, deadline management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience making decisions affecting product and process quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management systems.
- Ability to work the 2nd shift with flexible hours as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with assembly, leading, supervising, training, managing, picking, material handling, and production management.

Work Environment
The facility is temperature controlled, organized, and clean. Employees can wear casual attire and use headphones during their shift. There is a large cafeteria with free healthy snacks and drinks, as well as recreational activities like a Foosball table and a large TV for breaks. The work environment is designed to be comfortable and conducive to productivity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LIBERTYVILLE, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
