Quality Coordinator
Job Description
The Quality Coordinator audits manufacturing processes, finished firearms, and international shipments to ensure strict compliance with established standards and work instructions. This role records and follows up on quality variances, supports corrective actions, and helps maintain a robust quality management system while actively contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Audit manufacturing processes, completed firearms, and international shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Record quality variances accurately and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Create and issue Quality Alerts to communicate issues, risks, and required actions across the organization.
- Participate in daily shift meetings to review quality performance, discuss issues, and align on priorities.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) processes to evaluate non-conforming material and determine appropriate disposition.
- Maintain, update, and improve departmental quality procedures and visual standards to reflect current practices and requirements.
- Monitor non-conformance activity, analyze trends, and assist production teams with problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Investigate deviations from standards and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures in all activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
- Support and promote high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment, and a positive work environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed quality records, documentation, and reports in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards and expectations are clearly understood and met.
- Work varying shifts as needed and adapt to reassignment to other departments, functional groups, and/or shifts as required by management.
- Perform other responsibilities and tasks as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of quality-related experience, or an equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Proficiency in the use of metrology equipment and gaging, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Experience with quality assurance, product inspection, and auditing in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret and work with quality standards and work instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at different levels in the organization.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter while also functioning effectively in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.
- Willingness and ability to work varying shifts as needed.
- Ability to recognize and work in accordance with the company’s values, including integrity, safety, and respect.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with machining operations and related quality standards.
- Familiarity with 6S and continuous improvement practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong interpersonal and people skills to support collaboration with production and quality teams.
- Comfort working in an environment that includes firearms manufacturing and related processes.
- Flexibility to be assigned to other departments, functional groups, and shifts as needed by the business.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing environment that involves working in and around machinery and production equipment. The position follows a Thursday through Saturday schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with overtime available as needed. The work requires the ability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds and involves intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday. The environment includes exposure to noise, chemicals, and lights/lasers associated with manufacturing operations. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in accordance with company policy and position requirements. The workplace emphasizes safety, 6S practices, and adherence to quality and environmental health and safety standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellabell, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.48 - $30.76/hr.
