Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to fill prescriptions and prepare IVs. You will collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data into the computer system and ensure proper reimbursement payment. Your role will also involve assisting in prepackaging medication for dispensing in compliance with standards and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prescription Filling & IV Preparation: Assist the Registered Pharmacist in accurately filling prescriptions and preparing IV medications according to prescribed guidelines.
- Data Entry & Billing: Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription and billing data into the computer system to ensure accurate billing and payment.
- Medication Prepackaging: Assist in the prepackaging of medications based on standards and regulations for dispensing.
- Final Prescription Check: Support the Pharmacist in the final checking of filled prescriptions, which may involve stating medication for final review or packaging.
- Prescription Delivery: Coordinate the accurate and timely delivery of prescriptions to customers.
- Inventory Management: Assist Pharmacy Management in maintaining proper inventory practices, including receiving, rotating, and tracking incoming medications and supplies.
- Inventory Documentation: Post lot numbers and expiration dates for medications and assist in physical inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Work with the Technician Supervisor to maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring that equipment is calibrated and regularly checked for safety and cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow regulatory guidelines
