Deliver expert perioperative nursing care as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room at a major healthcare provider in Northern New Mexico. This travel opportunity is based in Ohkay Owingeh, NM, at a 47-bed acute care facility with a team of approximately 300 healthcare professionals. The role offers the chance to enhance your clinical skills while contributing to a high-quality patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, ensuring strict adherence to sterile techniques
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and providing appropriate instruments
- Monitor patient status throughout surgeries, responding promptly to any changes
- Perform preoperative and postoperative assessments and educate patients and families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain precise documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN licensure with certification specific to Operating Room nursing
- Current certifications submitted at application; no certifications available onsite
- Ability to obtain New Mexico state requirements including fingerprinting and background checks
- Minimum of 60 miles distance from the facility to qualify for travel assignment
- Strong clinical skills with excellent communication and teamwork abilities
