Job DescriptionWe are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Amherst, New York. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support various HR functions, including onboarding, benefits administration, and workers' compensation processes. Responsibilities:
• Assist with onboarding processes to ensure new hires have a smooth transition into the organization.
• Manage accident reports by submitting them to the carrier and conducting necessary follow-ups.
• Provide support with benefits administration, including open enrollment activities.
• Communicate effectively to address employee concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Maintain and update records in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
• Handle workers' compensation claims and related documentation.
• Support payroll operations and ensure accurate processing.
• Assist with employee relations and address inquiries regarding leave of absence policies.
• Conduct background checks and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with team members to improve HR processes and deliver exceptional service.• Previous experience in human resources administration or a related field.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and onboarding procedures.
• Understanding of benefits administration and workers' compensation processes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues when necessary.
• Experience with payroll operations and leave of absence management.
• Knowledge of employee relations and procedures related to candidate evaluations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Kronos or similar payroll and timekeeping systems.
