Position Overview:
Blue Line Coffee House is a coffee and gift shop designed to capture the essence of the Adirondacks. With each cup of coffee and every piece of merchandise, we offer locals and visitors a way to carry the mountain spirit with them. Our space fosters a welcoming vibe where community and connection thrive, offering a spot to gather and merchandise that reflects the special charm of the Adirondacks.
The Barista plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience at Blue Line Coffee House by preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages with a positive and welcoming attitude. This role requires attention to detail, responsiveness to customer needs, and a passion for coffee and customer service excellence. In addition, this role will also assist in inventory and stocking needs on the gift shop side of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide prompt service, and adhere to Blue Line standards for beverage preparation and presentation.
- Coffee Preparation: Prepare drinks to Blue Line standards, following exact recipes and presentation expectations. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the products, including coffee blends and preparation techniques, and offer recommendations as appropriate. Follow all health and safety regulations, including cleanliness standards for equipment, utensils, and prep areas.
- Store Maintenance: Monitor store appearance, restock shelves, and ensure the environment remains inviting and well-organized. Report low-stock items to management. Follow the closing checklist, including cleaning and organizing the station and equipment.
- Team Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a supportive, positive environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous barista or food service experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Passion for coffee and customer service
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods
Schedule & Availability:
- Part-time or full-time
- Must be available to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
