Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support communication within a school environment located in Cloquet, MN. This role involves travel to various educational settings, providing essential interpretation services to facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, educators, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
• Foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment for students with hearing impairments
• Collaborate closely with teachers, special education teams, and families to ensure accurate communication and support student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Travel locally to different school locations as required

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification or relevant training preferred
• Experience interpreting in educational settings is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of educational terminology and curriculum to provide accurate interpretation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
• Ability to manage travel schedules and adapt to varied environments
