Job DescriptionJob Opportunity: Boilermaker Location: Norfolk, VA
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00/hr
Schedule: Full-Time, Contract | 50–70 hrs/week | Up to 7 days/week (Overtime Required)About the RoleWe are seeking experienced Boilermakers to support industrial and marine operations in Norfolk, VA. This position is critical in the construction, maintenance, and repair of boilers and pressure vessels, ensuring safe and efficient operation across shipyard and industrial projects.Key Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect boiler systems for leaks or defects.
  • Replace or repair valves using hand and power tools.
  • Use gas torches for cutting, heating, and repairs.
  • Clean boilers, furnaces, and pressure vessel equipment using scrapers, wire brushes, and solvents.
  • Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections.
  • Install refractory brick in fireboxes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, procedures, and specifications.
  • Work in confined spaces, climb ladders/stairs, and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Endure noise, fumes, dust, heat/cold, and inclement weather.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of boiler, heat exchanger, and valve repair experience preferred.
  • Must be respirator-fit and physically capable of climbing 200+ steps per hour.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and obtain DBIDS/TWIC credentials.
  • Bricklaying/refractory experience in industrial settings a plus.
  • Must be available to work 50–70 hours per week, up to 7 days per week.
