Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Houston, TX
Starting Rate: $53.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support advanced Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging services for a leading healthcare organization. This is a unique fully remote, long-term opportunity offering a consistent schedule, competitive pay, and the chance to contribute to high-quality clinical and research imaging while supporting patient safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards
- Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals while adhering to ALARA radiation safety principles
- Conduct patient interviews, assessments, IV insertions, POCT, and post-procedure education
- Screen patients for implanted devices and obtain imaging clearance for clinical and research studies
- Monitor patient condition and recognize signs of distress, initiating appropriate emergency response when needed
- Ensure patient, staff, and environmental safety through infection control and radiation safety compliance
- Maintain strict control of clinical and restricted access areas, including hot lab and technical spaces
- Accurately document exams and patient information in RIS, PACS, and related systems
- Identify critical findings and promptly notify the interpreting radiologist
- Perform quality assurance checks and independently operate Nuclear Medicine, PET, CT, and hot lab equipment
- Participate in workflow optimization, productivity standards, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support education and mentoring of students, technologists, and staff
- Adhere to HIPAA, Joint Commission, ACR, and applicable state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field required
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
- Texas Medical Board CMRT license required
- CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine and/or PET imaging experience required
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree
- PET, ACLS, or PALS/PEARS certifications
- Experience in an academic medical center or research-focused imaging environment
