About the Role:

The EMT & Paramedic plays a critical role in providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in urgent and life-threatening situations. This position requires rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization of patients at the scene and during transport to healthcare facilities. The role demands collaboration with other emergency responders and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care. EMTs and Paramedics must maintain composure and make quick, informed decisions under pressure to optimize patient outcomes. Ultimately, this position is vital in delivering timely, compassionate, and effective pre-hospital care that can save lives and improve recovery chances.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid EMT or Paramedic certification/license as required by the state or region of employment.
  • Completion of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program.
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as mandated by the employer.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, and prolonged standing or kneeling.


Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical attention to patients at the scene.
  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and medical history gathering, to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
  • Administer emergency medical procedures such as CPR, wound care, airway management, and medication administration within the scope of practice.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities while continuously monitoring and managing their condition en route.
  • Document patient care reports accurately and communicate effectively with hospital staff and other emergency personnel.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with medical protocols and technologies.

Skills:

The required skills enable EMTs and Paramedics to perform critical assessments and interventions swiftly and accurately, ensuring patient safety and effective treatment. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members, patients, and healthcare providers, facilitating clear and concise information exchange. Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary to manage the physical demands of emergency response and patient transport. Preferred skills such as advanced certifications and familiarity with electronic reporting systems enhance the ability to provide specialized care and maintain thorough documentation.
