Mailroom Inserter – Part-Time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
$1,000 Sign-On Bonus
30+ Hours Per Week

USA TODAY is hiring Part-Time Mailroom Inserters for our production facility in Des Moines, IA. We have immediate openings for dependable, safety-focused individuals who are ready to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Our operation runs seven days a week, and scheduled start times may vary based on production needs. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent part-time hours with the potential to work 30+ hours per week.

What You'll Do

Feed preprinted materials into inserting machine hoppers accurately and efficiently.
Monitor inserting equipment to help prevent double inserts, skips, and other production errors.
Ensure newspaper products contain the correct inserts and meet quality standards.
Remove completed bundles weighing approximately 10–50 pounds and stack them for the next stage of production and delivery.
Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing paper, skids, and production debris.
Follow established safety procedures while working around forklifts, pallet jacks, inserting machines, and other production equipment.
Assist with other production assignments as needed.

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or GED.
Dependable attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
Strong safety awareness.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to monitor production equipment.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to regularly lift, move, and stack newspaper products weighing 10–50 pounds or more.
Ability to adjust to changing work assignments and production needs on short notice.
Ability to work safely around moving equipment and machinery.

Schedule

Part-time
30+ hours per week
8-hour shifts may be available based on production needs.
Start times vary by workday.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule within a seven-day production operation.
