Under the direction of, and reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Sales, the VP of Regional Sales develops plans and strategies for increasing revenue, sales growth, profit, and new market penetration to increase market share and to achieve sales goals in the distribution business unit. The VP of Regional Sales serves on the Leadership Team advising on the strategic sales of CM2 Supply. Responsibilities include strategic business planning, Sales Region P&L Oversight, sales strategy and customer development. This role has travel requirements of 50-75%.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Business Planning

  • Conducts competitive, product and market analysis to determine and highlight key growth opportunities and differentiators.
  • Partners on vendor relationships, product selection, and negotiation of high-level contracts to provide services and capabilities to support CM2 Supply’s distribution customer needs.
  • Partners with operations on business unit planning for budgeting, capital expenditures, financial projections, prospecting, forecasting and other financial planning exercises.

Profit & Loss (P&L) Oversight

  • Partners to develop annual budget and is accountable for sales budget.
  • Develops financial and sales reports and analysis.
  • Analyzes and interprets financial data and advises appropriately.
  • Creates a data-driven culture utilizing business intelligence systems and processes.
  • Consolidates and communicates financial results to appropriate audiences.

Distribution Sales and Customer Acquisition Strategy

  • Provides leadership to the sales team to meet designated sales goals.
  • Maintains current knowledge of emerging industry threats, technical challenges, economic and other trends.
  • Works with SVP Sales to refine and implement sales process.
  • Mentor & train existing and new sales talent.
  • Monitors customer, market and competitor activity and provides feedback to appropriate audiences.
  • Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
  • Assists in or produces feasibility studies/business plans for new product development or sales territory expansion.
  • Acts as primary liaison to the distribution sales force, providing value and support at key customer accounts.
  • Develops a broad network of relationships, participates in automation related professional organizations, and attends trade shows and conferences to remain fluent on the latest technological solutions.
  • Manages key customer relationships and participates in closing strategic opportunities.

Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA)

  • Manages relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Provide leadership, direction, training, and growth opportunities for company and assigned staff.
  • Evaluate employees’ job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action. Direct disciplinary or termination actions in conjunction with Human Resources as needed.
  • Provides workflow assessments and recommendations for improvement, as necessary.
  • Hires and manages staff in accordance with business plan.
  • Directs and oversees aspects of assigned department functions to ensure the timely and accurate production of department requirements.
  • Performs miscellaneous research, projects and analysis as requested by President/CEO

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, or Business-related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 + years’ related work experience in welding and industrial equipment sales and/or field-related tasks preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience people management
  • Business-to-business sales experience.
  • Experience selling a product that requires some technical understanding.
  • A history of measurable sales achievements: sales awards, quotas exceeded, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be ablet to lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Extensive travel required, locally and within the geographic regions we operate.
  • To meet deadlines and support business operations works a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends and attending events/meetings as needed.
  • Must possess valid Driver’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is primarily indoors. May have exposure to a variety of weather conditions when traveling outside of the workplace.
